REALITY SHOW a poem by Gail White

I’ve received several poems via the submission page on this site, over recent months, so many thanks to all who’ve been kind enough to share their work with me – keep ’em coming people.

Now seems like a good time to share some with you guys. I particularly like this one written by Gail White from Louisiana, USA. Hope you enjoy it too.

REALITY SHOW
The cat says, Pay me some attention,
you dumb people, even though
you have more troubles than you can mention

clamoring for your intervention.Cat2
Where did your education go?
Even the cat would have paid attention

to your last credit card suspension,
your negative cash and credit flow.
The aggravations you could mention

include your child’s incomprehension
of every song and dance you know.
The cat has paid you more attention

than this dumb kid whose reprehension
of your whole life will only grow.
The other troubles you could mention

include  the loss of your old age pension,
your job, your sex life, last year’s snow.
And through each trial that you can mention,
the cat’s demanding your attention.
